Are you a great photographer? Do you know a great photographer? Do you appreciate great photography? If so, read on:
There are two parts to this blog regarding how to earn money with Dreamstime. The first is for photographers. The second is for those who appreciate photography.
Part One: Photographers…
If you know someone who is a great photographer, you’re welcome to send them here to my blog to read about Dreamstime.
For great photographers, Dreamstime is a stock photography site offering photographers a place to sale their pictures. They also offer licensing for pictures. They have been members of
PACA since 2006 and a member of CEPIC since 2007. PACA and CEPIC are the main trade associations of the stock photography industry.Registration is free, they have a wonderful FAQ section to assist new photographers (contributors). There are too many FAQs to list in a blog. As with most royalty income opportunities, guidelines, rules, and laws are extensive, so take some time to read the FAQs and information on their site. Contributors can request payment once their account has reached $100. The pictures on their site are top notched, professional pictures. Not all pictures are accepted for a variety of reasons. But, for those with a passion for the trade and are good at it, check out Dreamstime by clicking the link below.
If you appreciate photography, but are not a photographer, this information is for you.
Okay…there’s good news and bad news here..
The Good news…Yesterday, I logged into my account at Dreamstime, and on their front page, there was a “rotating” notice about getting paid to assist with “key words” for pictures. I clicked on the notice, and sure enough, here was this really cool feature. Dreamstime is paying contributors 2 cents for accepted key words contributors generate for designated pictures. I added the page to “My Favorites” and for next hour or so, I clicked on pictures and submitted key words. To me, the work was pleasant, easy, and quick…my kind of thing. After a few minutes, I generated a personal system to get the work done, and had my key words submitted in about one to two minutes per picture. Each picture requires a minimum of ten words. After making the suggestion, the words go into a queue, and if any key words are accepted, the contributors account is credited.
More Good News: I believe this is a new feature, and if it takes off, it has the potential to be a $10-$12 an hour working from home by my calculations ($.02 x 40 submissions at 10 words per submission, on average, per hour = $8.00...if you get in 60 per hour, it would be $12.00 per hour).
Now, time for the bad news.
First, I added the “key word” page to My Favorites. Once I spent some time working the program, I tried to find the page without using My Favorites, so I could blog instructions on where to find this feature on their site. Oops…I can not find it without clicking on the page from My Favorites. It was a rotating notice when I originally found it. I believe it is in one of the many company blogs or forums. I have been searching for it, but still can not find it. And, I can’t leave the link I have because the page is logged in to my account. I will continue trying to find the instructions to this feature on their site, and blog it if I find it.
Second, being a new feature, I feel some bugs will need to get worked from their side. Because it is for contributors, the payout will be the same as contributors, meaning a minimum of $100.00. Also, the key words submitted go into a queue, so I have found no way to know when a submission has been reviewed. This morning, I checked my account, and 2 cents had been added, so at least one of my words was accepted. The problem is I don’t know if this represents all my submissions or what? Also, it does not tell me which word was accepted, so I can’t start a data base to start tracking what words work and what don’t. So, again, I feel some bugs need to get worked out.
Back to Good News…Maybe
Food for thought…“Necessity is the Mother of invention”
I’ve been pondering the future of this type of business. Key Words are considered a vital part of succeeding on the internet. Key words slim down the competition to sites, blogs, items for sale, etc. As I was reading through blogs on Dreamstime site, most of the contributors were complaining about having to generate “great” key words…after all, this is not their field of expertise. So, this lead me to think…
For those entrepreneurial spirited, what’s to say you could not start your own contracting business for companies such as Dreamstime, and the like, charging for generating key words….hmmmm…personally, I think it’s a great idea. Just remember me when your business is to the point you need help. Make it a “Work from Home,” program with FREE registration, and I will gladly blog it.
I found a digital article for sale about “Key Words” on Amazon. The cost is $5.95 and the link is below…should anyone ever read it, I’d appreciate feedback about the article.
